Major Galloway Steps Down as Executive Director of the Everett Housing Authority; Board Announces Interim Director and Search

The Everett Housing Authority (EHA) announced that Major Galloway has decided to resign as Executive Director. The Board of Commissioners has appointed Mary Swenson with GMP Consultants as Interim Director effective April 1, 2024. Galloway stated: “This is a mutually agreed upon decision under the circumstances. This decision is in the best interest of my family, my future professional endeavors, and the Everett Housing Authority. Despite the short tenure, a sound operating plan has been outlined to move the Authority forward.” Galloway will provide temporary transition support to the Board of Commissioners and Interim Executive Director Swenson. Everett Housing Authority Waiting List Opening April 1, 2024 The Everett Housing Authority (EHA) will open the Project Based Voucher waiting list to applicants for the Grandview Homes, Pineview Homes, Timber Hill Apartments, Evergreen Court Senior Apartments, and Village East Senior Apartments. Information about each property can be found on our website at www.evha.org.  The waiting list will open on April 1, 2024, at 9:00 am and close on April 26, 2024, at 5:00 pm. With an extensive background in policy from both Housing of Urban Development (HUD) and most recently the Atlanta Housing Authority, Galloway brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of success in the housing and community development sector. Community meeting to discuss the Park District

The Everett Housing Authority and their design team held a virtual public meeting regarding the transformation of the former Baker Heights public housing into the ‘Park District’; a planned mixed-income, mixed-use masterplan development designed towards the provision of approximately 1,500 units of housing and public amenities including but not limited to park, retail, civic, and office type spaces.
