EHA Is Updating Our Project Based Voucher (PBV) Waiting Lists With Save My Spot
THIS NEWS ITEM IS FOR APPLICANTS WHO ARE ON OUR PBV PROPERTY WAITING LISTS.
All of our waiting lists are closed.
Applicants on all property waiting lists have been contacted by mail and email and must notify EHA by July 31, 2025, if they want to remain on the waiting list.
To remain on the waiting list, applicants must login to their RENTCafé account, select the "Save My Spot" tile, and complete a short workflow. Applicants will receive an email confirmation when they done.
Applicants who do not respond by the deadline will be removed from the waiting list without further notice. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact EHA by emailing applications@evha.org or calling 425-303-1156.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who do I need to contact for assistance with saving my spot on EHA waiting lists?
Please direct applicants to call (425) 303-1156 and leave a voicemail, or email applications@evha.org and include their name and contact information. EHA property management staff overseeing the waiting list update will assist them as soon as possible, in the order that their message was received.
EHA property management staff will also be available at the Colby office, 3107 Colby Avenue, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (except agency holidays) between 9 AM and 12 PM, and 1 PM and 3 PM, to provide assistance in person.
Where am I on the waiting list? How long should I expect to wait?
EHA does not assign position numbers to its waiting list. Applicants will be selected in order of the date and time of their original application. This information is visible to the applicant in their RENTCafé portal, or you can look it up in the Waiting list screen of their Voyager record. Due to the high demand for affordable housing, you may expect to wait several years after applying before a unit is available.
Can I apply for additional waiting lists at the same time?
Unfortunately, EHA does not currently have any waiting lists open. You can sign up to be notified of future waiting list openings via this link: https://www.evha.org/sign-up-for-waiting-list-news
Does this mean EHA will be pulling applicants from the PBV waiting list?
Yes, EHA expects to be pulling applicants from some PBV waiting lists during the upcoming year to fill any vacancies created when existing residents move out. We do not know exactly how many applicants we will select. Many households have been waiting for several years for housing, so if you have applied more recently it may still be years before you are contacted.
Does this mean I am going to get PBV assistance?
Being on the waiting list is not a guarantee that an applicant will receive PBV assistance, it simply means they are waiting for their opportunity to apply when a unit becomes available. When an applicant reaches the top of the waiting list and submits a full application, EHA will determine if they are eligible to receive assistance and meet property criteria.
How do I know if my spot has been saved?
There is no need to call to confirm. If you responded by the deadline and received a confirmation (either by email or by submitting the paper form), your place is saved. Just make sure your contact info stays up to date and check your RENTCafé account periodically for updates.
What should I do now?
Make sure your contact information, especially your email address and mailing address, is up to date in your RENTCafé account. Check your email and mail to make sure you don't miss any communication from EHA. If your contact information changes, make sure you update your RENTCafé account right away.
I missed the deadline and was removed from the waiting list; can I get back on?
EHA can reinstate applicants who don't respond by the deadline if it is determined that the lack of response was due to EHA error, disability, or circumstances beyond the family's control.
