Letter to the Community from Our Executive Director Dear Everett Community,   Over the past few weeks, I have wrestled with what to say in the context of the death of George Floyd and the scourge of systemic racism. I realize that as a Black person who grew up under Apartheid in South Africa, I don’t have the same experience that other people of color have. Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Waiting List Update

Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Waiting List Update   Everett Housing Authority has been awarded funding for 2020 to award 60 new vouchers to certain households on its wait list. Households must include a disabled member between the ages of 18 and 61 to be eligible. A preference will be given for these vouchers to households on the wait list who are 1) currently homeless or 2) who were homeless and are now a client in Permanent Supportive Housing.   At this time, Everett Housing Authority will be updating its Housing Choice Voucher wait list to prepare for issuing these new vouchers. Resident Advisory Board Meeting on EHA’s 5-Year Plan/Annual Plan for 2020-21

Everett Housing Authority (EHA) invites Voucher Program and Public Housing participants to join the Resident Advisory Board (RAB)!  The RAB advises EHA in the development of the 5-Year/Annual Plan that will go into effect July 1, 2020 in two ways:  1) Provides comment on policy initiatives the agency intends to implement and related activities over the next five years; 2) Recommends any other areas of focus or specific activities to be included in the 5-Year/Annual Plan.  To ensure everyone who is interested in joining the RAB gets that opportunity, meetings will be held on two dates at two locations.  Please attend the meeting that is most convenient for you.  Please do not attend both meetings.  EHA will not be providing child... Project Based Voucher Waitlist Closure(s)

The Everett Housing Authority (EHA) will be closing its Project Based Voucher (PBV) waitlists for the Wiggums Park Place Apartments, Broadway Plaza Apartments, Pineview Apartments and Douglas Grove Apartments. Application will be accepted through July 31, 2019, at 5:00pm. Information on how to apply can be found on our website at www.evha.org.  Applicants who require a reasonable accommodation should contact office staff at (425) 303-1145.    It would be greatly appreciated if you could share the enclosed information with your clients or other agencies providing social services within the Everett area. 5 Year Plan Public Hearing

Representatives from the County, Cities of Everett and Marysville, the Housing Authority of Snohomish County (HASCO) and EHA will hold joint public meetings on June 4 and 5, 2019.  These meetings will provide an opportunity for members of the public to identify the most important needs (affordable housing, economic development, etc.) of low and moderate income residents of the community, and how funding from the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) can be used to help meet these needs.  EHA representatives will be attending the June 4 meeting at HASCO.  Click HERE for more details.
