Everett Housing Authority Purchases Huntington Park, Furthering Community-Focused Strategic Plan

Huntington Park Apartments is under new ownership through Everett Housing Authority (EHA) as of March 11, 2022. The purchase of this 381-unit multi-family complex marks another step for EHA in alignment with their strategic goal of providing affordable housing to the Everett community. Current residents of the complex will not be affected by this transition of ownership and EHA’s hope is that they will benefit from the transaction, as the acquisition is part of a large-scale affordable housing preservation action. Everett Housing Authority’s proposed Capital Fund Program (CFP) 5-Year Action Plan, describing the Capital Fund expenditures necessary to ensure the long-term viability of EHA’s public housing developments, is available for public review and comment.  The CFP 5 Year Action Plan is also subject to approval by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) prior to disbursement of Capital Fund grants for the proposed expenditures. EHA Accepted into MTW Demonstration Program

In January 2021, after conducting resident and participant engagement, Everett Housing Authority (EHA) applied to join the MTW demonstration as part of the Rent Reform group, which will study a new way of setting rents/tenant payments for some residents and participants.  We formally joined the demonstration this summer.   The next step will be for EHA to develop an MTW Supplement to its Public Housing Agency Annual Plan, describing in more detail the specific new policies that EHA will implement in its first year of participating in MTW.  EHA will hold public meetings in late 2021 or early 2022, to be announced soon, for residents/participants to learn more and provide feedback on the MTW Supplement.   MTW is a demonstration... Construction at Baker Heights Legacy

Baker Heights Legacy, located on the 1400 blocks of Fir, Larch, and Pine streets, is scheduled to commence construction on the week of May 3rd, 2021.  The construction schedule is estimated to be approximately 20 months.
